Finding a Better Way to Manage Farm Data 

In the search for a solution to their spreadsheet woes, Tim Dewey Farms, located in Kansas, started using Granular Business. The real-time farm data helped Steve organize all their business needs into a single, easy-to-understand format. They specifically use crop plans, work orders, and the mobile app to pinpoint input inventory usage on their fields, where they grow Pioneer corn, soybeans, sorghum, alfalfa, cotton, wheat and triticale.

“My grandfather farmed this land, and my father is still farming with us. We all have a gut feeling about some ground producing better than others,” Steve said. “But this takes the ‘gut’ right out of it. Simple Profit Analysis at Harvest

Granular Business guides Tim Dewey Farms all through the year, but is especially helpful at the end of the growing season. Steve uses it to sort farm data down to each field, analyze and plan for business expenses such as rent payments, interest, land payments, equipment expenses, fertilizer chemicals, and seed.
